Bibi is a typical example of what happens when a type 2 diabetic chooses to follow a low-fat, fruit-based diet. She was coached by my best friend, Kristina Bucaram, and she learned all the tips and tricks she needed to take control of her health.
Before finding a fruit-based diet, Bibi tried working with a nutritionist who had her eating lots of animal foods, processed food, protein bars, and artificial sweeteners. Her condition did not improve, and she was still having terrible migraines.
In 2011, Bibi happened to come across the Forks Over Knives documentary, which shows how type 2 diabetes can be reversed with a whole-food, plant-based diet. She started making some changes, and while searching online for vegan recipes she stumbled onto Kristina’s website. They started working together, and two months later Bibi no longer needed her diabetes medication.
